As Wardlaw-Hartridge has reshaped itself over the years, the school has been proud to become an increasingly inclusive community, enrolling students of all creeds, colors, and economic backgrounds. In fact, it has become a national leader among independent schools in terms of diversity, reflecting the diversity of the area.
While there have been important changes in the school's name, location and configuration over the years, Wardlaw-Hartridge has continued the tradition from its earliest days of preparing its students for success in college and leadership in life through personal attention to the growth of each student.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are the only independent school in Edison Township.

Directions from Garden State Parkway:
Exit 131 to Route 27. Take Route 27 south to the Wood Avenue traffic light (bottom of hill). Make right onto Wood Avenue. Go to the third traffic light (c. 2 miles) and make a left turn onto Inman Avenue. Continue on Inman Avenue for 2.5 miles to our school. There will be a green Wardlaw-Hartridge sign on the left side of the road.
Directions from Route 22:
Coming from the east, turn right onto Terrill Road Exit jug handle (across from Sears). You will cross Route 22 onto Terrill Road. Coming from the west, turn right onto Terrill Road (Sears is on right). At fifth light, turn right onto West Seventh Street. At second light turn left onto Woodland Avenue. At second light (golf course) turn left onto Maple Avenue. At fork, bear right onto Inman Avenue and Wardlaw-Hartridge is 1/4 mile on right. There will be a green Wardlaw-Hartridge sign on the right side of the road.
Directions from Route 78:
Take Exit 40. Coming from the east, turn left onto Hillcrest Road. Coming from the west, bear right onto Hillcrest Avenue. Go to end. Turn right into Watchung Circle (go 3/4 way around circle) and turn onto Somerset Street. Take Somerset Street (almost to Route 22) and turn left at "The Plainfields" sign. Go over overpass and turn left onto Somerset Street (which becomes Park Avenue). Continue on Park Avenue past hospital and Dunkin Donuts (on left) to first light and turn left onto Maple Avenue. At fork, bear right onto Inman Avenue and Wardlaw-Hartridge is 1/4 mile on right. There will be a green Wardlaw-Hartridge sign on the right side of the road.
