How long have you been in business?
NJID was established in 1949 as the Cerebral Palsy Association of Middlesex County. The first location was an abandoned garage in Perth Amboy. Today, nearly 500 employees serve more than 1500 infants, children and adults with disabilities in 41 locations throughout NJ.
What is your primary product or service?
NJID is a not-for-profit agency providing comprehensive services for infants, children and adults with disabilities throughout NJ. Services include Early Intervention; Special Education; Adult day programs and employment supports; a residential network of more than 25 houses and apartments; Assistive Technology; medical clinics; social services; community initiatives

How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
NJID offers a full continuum of services for people with disabilities. The youngest clients are newborns, the oldest clients are close to 90 years of age. Clients present with more than 100 different diagnosis and NJID has great experience serving individuals with complicated medical profiles. NJID always seek to remain on the leading edge of technology as a support to helping people with disabilities to achieve their highest potential and personal fulfillment. In 2017, NJID opened the Aquatic Center at the Lakeview School (Edison) which provides state-of-the-art hydrotherapy services for children with disabilities.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
NJID currently operates 41 locations in Middlesex, Somerset, Monmouth and Ocean counties. Thoughtful expansion occurs as need for services and funding streams create a dynamic for growth.

The NJID Administrative offices are located across from the lake, within Roosevelt Park (Edison) at 10A Oak Drive. The Roosevelt Park campus is the site of the NJID Administrative Office, Lakeview School, The Children's Center and Adult Community Support Services.

NJID is a not-for-profit agency. Programs are supported through a wide variety of funding streams including federal and state grants, allocations and contracts. Administrative office hours are 8:30-5:00 (weekdays); agency programs operate varying hours, depending on the services; with weekend and evening hours; group homes are maintained with 24 hour/7 day a week staffing.
